The phenomenon of the domestic child workers is on the rise in Pakistan because of the rapid urbanization and increasing poverty due to a number factors including inflation, power crises, extremism and weak governance which have all hit the economy very hard. These domestic child workers suffer abuse, exploitation and even torture. Domestic child labour is considered the worst form of child labour. NGO Coalition for Child Rights (NCCR) is a network of organization working for the protection of the rights of children with special focus in Khyber Pakhtoonkwah province.
NCCR is supporting SSD for organizing advocacy campaign to raise awareness for the rights of domestic child workers. Through this project SSD is organizing several activities in Peshawar, which include session for women of the household in which children are working, community awareness sessions and evening classes of the children working as domestic workers.
